What an exciting day, whew!!! And what a HOT day, 98 degrees!
She got up at 6:00 a.m.; could hardly eat from excitement and nerves. So I sent her off to school with 1/2 of a 1/2 bagel and a few strawberries in her tummy. Once at school from 8-10 a.m. they were in "class". Hmmm, not sure what they did, poor teachers. Anyway at 10:00 a.m. a special brunch was held in their honor. From the quantity of food those little ones consumed I'm guessing they all ate like birds at home. Sheesh! No sooner than they finished brunch did the Ding-A-Ling Man (ice cream truck) show up. Again, they ate like farmers! Next we had to whisk them away to head home and get into their fancy caps and gowns. And wash their sticky, sweaty little bodies. Next, you guessed it--photo time! Our Grace is not real keen on her photo being taken but we managed; in the sweltering heat. Then it was back to school to wait for the "cool ride" to the graduation ceremony. Once at church there was a special surprise awaiting us all. The Magnet Man was there!! So all the families had a keepsake photo magnet made to remember this special day. Thank you MTA, you're the best!!
The graduation was wonderful. Air conditioning, ahhhh! Oh, I meant it went wonderfully. They sang the cutest song. When graduation was done we said our sad good-byes and went out to eat and her favorite Chinese restaurant. And guess what?! She was STILL hungry! Graduating sure works up an appetite in kids I guess!
Then it was home to r-e-l-a-x. Deep breath....
I suppose it'd be no surprise to say that Miss Grace was fast sleep by 7:30, with happy thoughts of this wonderful day drifting in and out of her dreams. Congratulations little one, we are SO proud of you and all you've accomplished and worked SO hard for this year. Look out First Grade here she comes!!!
